The consistent Commissioner D has become a victim of success, as her three-race win skein pushes the 5-year-old mare into tougher company. She ran a sneaky good third in her last outing – a wide, but solid late finish against similar company. Jose Bracho will again ride for trainer Justin Radosevich in a allowance race at 6 furlongs with a $38,400 purse. The 5-year-old Mapleton-bred mare races for HMDC and Taste of Victory Stables and is shooting for her eighth career victory.

On Wednesday our head-scratcher, Forloveofbonnie, will try to get her second career win in a $35,800 sprint for the same connections. The accredited 4-year-old gets going in the right direction and it seems as soon as she is sitting on “go,” gets a hitch in her gitalong (didn’t want to bore you with veterinarian jargon) – and its back to the farm for a rest. In her seasonal debut she ran 3rd to Commissioner D, only to follow with a early speed effort that saw her fade in the stretch. Let’s hope trainer Justin Radosevich has found the key with Jose Bracho in the irons.

Thursday’s $40,100 headliner will see Gray Perfection face registered allowance foes shopping for their fourth career win. Five starters in the six horse field are coming out of the same race and Gray Perfection defeated four of them. The new face in the field is Nava, the half-sister to multiple SW Candlelight Hours (by Dominus) who is running for her third straight win. Gray Perfection looked like a winner but ran out of real estate late to miss by 3⁄4 lengths. The 3-year-old daughter of Creative Cause is trained by Mike Rone who has named Erik Barbaran to ride her for the first time. Bred by Huntertown Farm, her partnership includes HMDC, Taste of Victory and TBC Racing.
