I BELONG FIRST RETURNS TO HER BEST DISTANCE ON WEDNESDAY

I Belong First
I Belong First

HMDC and Taste of Victory’s now 4-year-old I Belong First heads to post on Wednesday in the seventh race at Mahoning Valley. The one-mile affair offers an allowance purse of $35,100 for Ohio Registered fillies and mares who have not won three races.

The Mapleton-bred daughter of Cowtown Cat put together back-to-back wins last seasonwith the second of those coming at a mile, where she recorded her highest lifetime Beyer Speed Figure. On the downside, I Belong First has never shown an affinity for the racing strip at Mahoning and has yet to hit the board there. Trying to change that fact will be jockey Rocco Bowen who will get a leg up for the two turns from trainer Megan Fadlovich.

Well spring has sprung, and hopefully the wild weather of winter is in the rear-view window. You need a “Mudder Superior” and a lot of patience to wait out the eventual lost training and racing days that inevitably plague the racing game north of the Mason-Dixon line. We will have runners competing in every division open to Ohio-breds this season. With a little luck, we’ll see you at the races on one of these dates!
